I started dancing at age three at a small dance studio, "Dance Horizons," in Redlands, CA. For two years I took ballet/tap combination classes and when it came time to choose which one to continue in, I chose tap.
After getting my bachelors Degree from California State University in San Bernardino In 2000, upon graduation from university I volunteered at CAHPERD (California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) in Palm Springs where I was introduced to a new world of dance conventions and some of the best dance teachers and choreographers of today. I volunteered again in 2005 (being that I was back in Southern California) and loved every minute of it. I plan to volunteer and help out at CAHPERD and many other dance conventions as my career progresses.
Since then I have excelled in tap and in swing dancing. In 2001 I moved to Northern California to a small town called Foster City. While there I studied tap dance at Stanford and Swing dance at CSM with Joan Walton and I began teaching tap dance for the Foster City Community Center. Foster City is where I created "footworkz" which is a tap dance team made up of my students. Also, with my husband, I taught swing dance at the Brisbane and Fremont Community Centers.
Currently I am teaching "Tap for Tot's" and Beginning Adult Tap at the Hurst Recreation Center.
